American Red Cross - Dutchess County Chapter
The local chapter of the American Red Cross. They conduct disaster relief, blood drives, and other community services. http://dutchesscounty.redcross.org
Animal Rescue Foundation:
A no-kill, non-profit, all-volunteer cat and dog shelter. The shelter programs include pet adoptions, sponsorships, and volunteer opportunities.

Association for Senior Citizens:
Providing socialization and support services for senior citizens, the frail, and homebound or disabled elderly of Dutchess County.

Astor Services for Children:
Comprised of a 20-bed residential treatment facility for children with serious and persistent emotional disturbances and a 55-bed residential treatment center. The agency also provides opportunities for alternate family placements for children through its Therapeutic Foster Family Program and its Family-based Treatment Program.

Child Abuse Prevention Center
Serving more than 6,000 abused and at-risk children each year and providing support and education services to more than 2,000 parents, teachers and caregivers. The only agency in Dutchess County providing sexual-abuse prevention training. Support services help abused children — and educate adults to prevent future abuse.

Catharine Street Community Center:
Catharine Street Community Center offers a diversity of community based programs that include K-7 after school and enrichment, Kidz Squash, bilingual parenting skills, advocacy and support services for needy families, life skills for youth, HIV/AIDS case management, The Poughkeepsie Boys Choir, and the Poughkeepsie Learning and Educating about AIDS (P.L.E.A.).

Daughters of the American Revolution Melzingah Chapter:

The Dutchess County Council on Alcoholism and Chemical Dependency, Inc. was established in 1985 to meet the growing need for Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug (ATOD) prevention and education services in Dutchess County.

Dutchess County SPCA:
Rescues and provides temporary humane shelter for the abandoned, neglected and abused companion animals of the Dutchess County community. Central to their mission is the securing of caring, responsible, permanent homes for the adoptable animals in their care.

Dutchess Outreach:
Serves a complete and nutritious mid-day meal six days a week to those in need. Provides a three day supply of groceries to Dutchess County residents who have trouble making ends meet. Provides advocacy and referral services, and to a limited extent one time financial assistance, to individuals and families facing a documented financial emergency preventing them from being able to afford their medication, rent, or utilities.

Fishkill Ridge Caretakers:
Founded in 1999 to respond to the increasing pressure for industrial development and quarrying of Fishkill Ridge. This majestic range, rising above Route 9 at the northern end of the Hudson Highlands, played a role in the American Revolution, and large parts of it are open to the public for recreational use.

Hopewell Junction Citizens for Clean Water & Clean Air:
Consists of residents living in Hopewell Junction. They help answer water testing questions and other issues dealing with water contamination and vapor intrusion. They also work closely with the Environmental Protection Agency, getting information which they can pass on to the residents.

Hospice:
Not-for-profit health-care agency that offers palliative care for individuals who are diagnosed with a terminal illness. Services include respite care, home health aide services, medical and social services, spiritual care, counseling, medication and supplies, medical equipment, and volunteer services.

HRH is a nonprofit membership organization committed to preserving the unique character of the Mid-Hudson Valley's historic architecture, rural landscapes and scenic viewsheds through advocacy and education.

Hudson Valley Raptor Center:
Provides a haven and sanctuary for sick and injured birds of prey. The non-profit HVRC is home to over 100 raptors including, eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, ospreys, and vultures that are either injured, sick, or unable to survive in their natural environments. The facility comprises buildings and enclosures located on 90 rural acres in northern Dutchess County. They hold regularly scheduled tours, educational programs, and demonstrations of the flying skills of hawks and falcons.

A chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, they provide assistance to individuals with Alzheimer's and their families. Services include a helpline, library, socialization programs, "Time Away" program, the caring companion program, Safe Return program, care consultations and many other programs that support and advocate for those afflicted with Alzheimer's.
